Vintage Patek is priced closer to how an auction house would evaluate a lot than how we'd price a modern reference off a comp table — a vintage World Time or perpetual chronograph can move the appraisal number by a wide margin based on dial variant, case metal, movement originality, and whether the piece has appeared in prior auction records. Two examples of the same reference can be worth meaningfully different amounts depending on whether the dial and hands are original to the case, whether it's been over-polished, and whether the movement has its original components.

This is the category where we're most likely to recommend in-person appraisal over a remote quote, and where documentation matters most: extract from the Patek archives, prior auction catalog listings, service records, or a documented ownership chain all move a piece toward the top of its range. If you have any of that, mention it when you submit photos — it changes how we approach the appraisal from the outset.
